Event: DAES/ASRC Joint Colloquium Series with Speaker Benjamin Kirtman

Where: Zoom

When: 11:30a.m.- 12:30p.m.

About: The Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences along with the Atmospheric Science Center are hosting a joint academic conference with Benjamin Kirtman, a professor at the University of Miami. During the presentation they will be discussing the model that describes the ocean eddy resolving method and predictability of seasonal decay. All are welcome!


Event: LLC Spanish Cooking Club - Club de Cocina

Where: Zoom

When: 8:00p.m. - 9:00p.m.

About: In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, this club is giving everyone the opportunity to come practice their Spanish skills as faculty disclose their phenomenal recipes.

Event: Munch with the Majors

Where: Campus Center Ballroom

When: 6:30p.m.- 8:30pm.

About: Students are invited to come talk to faculty, researchers, academic and career advisors, and internship professionals to learn more about their major, minor, or potential career path


Event: GSRC: Late Night

Where: Gender & Sexuality Resource Center - Campus Center 0190

When: 7:00p.m - 12:00 a.m.

About: Come join the GSRC on their monthly late night event where they read, watch movies, and play games. Everyone is welcome!


Sept. 29

Event: CURCE Fall Fair

Where: Campus Center Ballroom

When: 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.

About: CURCE is inviting those who are interested in research to come meet faculty and researchers who are currently looking for potential students in their labs for the spring and summer of next year.


Event: A Taste of the Caribbean

Where: Campus Center

When: 11:30a.m. - 2:00p.m.

About: Come to the 1844 Restaurant in the Campus Center to enjoy a Caribbean styled menu. Students with a meal plan receive 50% off and all faculty will get 10% off their purchase.

Where: State Quad Dining Hall

When: 4:00p.m. - 8:00p.m.

About: Come to State Quad Dining Hall to enjoy a delicious meal of crispy, buttermilk chicken, waffles, along with coleslaw, sweet potato fries, and more!

Event: LLC Italian Table

Where: Humanities 131

When: 2:35p.m. - 3:35p.m.

About: All levels of Italian language speakers are welcome to come and talk about your interest with the Italian language and culture.


Event: An Evening of Flamenco Music & Film

Where: Performing Arts Center (Recital Hall), Main Campus

When: 7:30p.m. - 9:00p.m.

About: Come see flamenco guitarist Maria Zemantauski perform at the recital hall followed by a screening of the film “Flamenco Vivo’s 6Hilos”, which introduces artists who will be performing on Saturday at the Flamenco Vivo along with giving a brief description of the history of flamenco.

Event: Flamenco Vivo

Where: Performing Arts Center (Main Theatre), Main Campus

When: 7:30p.m. - 9:00p.m.

About: Come watch America's premier Spanish dance company, one of the few women-led flamenco groups that encourage the evolving flamenco art form and the Spanish heritage mannerisms, as they build a bridge and connect the culture and spirits surrounding the world of Flamenco.
