Event: DAES/ASRC Joint Colloquium Series: Kelly Lombardo

Where: Zoom

When: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Summary: The Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences and the Atmospheric Science Research Center invite are hosting a presentation with Kelly Lombardo, an Associate Professor from Penn State University. The title of presentation is “How Sea Breezes and Coastal Mountains Alter the Life Cycle of Squall Lines.”

Event: Craft Talk with Poet Randall Horton

Where: Campus Center Multipurpose Room

When: 4:30p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Summary: Randall Horton, artist who procured his Ph.D. in English at our very own UAlbany, who is "the only person in the United States with seven felony convictions and academic tenure" (PEN America) will be speaking in the Campus Center Multipurpose Room. His amazing assortment, {#289-128}: Poems tend to America's jail modern intricate and the dumbfounding thought of opportunity in a cell.

Event: University at Albany MBA for Executives Information Session

Where: Zoom

When: 4 p.m. to 5p.m.

Summary: This online meeting gives the ins and outs of the benefits of finishing a chief level MBA program to your profession and is designed to help students determine the advantages of picking the excellent MBA for Executives Program at the double AACSB-certify University at Albany School of Business, understand the flexibility of the EMBA program, and the features that make this MBA program better in comparison to other MBA alternatives in New York

Summary: Hong is the writer of three books of verse and the self-portraying book, Minor Feelings (2020), a mercilessly genuine, sincerely charged, and totally unique investigation of Asian American awareness. Hong will talk about her work and encounters followed by a directed Q&A with the crowd

Event: Jazz on Jay: Joshua Nelson Quartet

When: 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

Summary: Jazz on Jay is a weekly free concert series that will run for the rest of September featuring remarkable vocalists and instrumentalists from across the area. MVP Health Care offers free parking for the event, which can be found in their parking garage.

Event: Race for Equity

Where: Casey Stadium

When: Check-in: 9:30a.m., Race: 11:00a.m.

Summary: The Race for Equity Event is a 5K run to honor all the accomplishments that have been achieved whilst raising awareness about ongoing injustices. The event will feature music and tabling by various student and non-profit organizations. All proceeds will go towards social justice scholarships for UAlbany students who are interested and active in addressing social injustices. Those looking to participate can register online. UAlbany students can register free of charge and it is $15 for UAlbany employees and $30 for the general public.

Event: City Without Jews

Where: Performing Arts Center

When: 7:30p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Summary: The Performing Arts Center and the New York State Writers Institute will be hosting a free screening of the 1924 silent movie by Austrian chief H.K. The film features live unique music formed and performed by widely acclaimed klezmer musician Alicia Svigals and commended silent film piano player Donald Sosin. The film is based off of Hugo Bettauer’s book on the Holocaust.
