On Monday night, The UAlbany Great Danes men's soccer team finished off their regular season with a 1-0 loss to the Stony Brook SeaWolves. Despite the loss the Great Danes have the 3rd seed locked up in the American East Tournament.

Stony Brook got on the board early in the match when Sean Towey launched a serve into the UAlbany box that was headed in by Bas Beckhoven in the eight minute.

Following that goal the Great Danes were unable to spur their offense to a response for the rst of the night. The Great Danes only managed to put three total shots on goal in the whole game. They were outshot seven to six in the first half but managed to turn it around in the second half defensively.

After suffering a shots deficit in the first half, UAlbany's defense bolted down on defense to only allow Stony Brook to take one shot after halftime. However, all four of UAlbany's second-half shots came in the final 20 minutes.

Head Coach Trevor Gorman was disappointed finishing the season with a loss but was pleased with the team's success over the season. "Of course we wanted to finish the regular season with a victory but we are proud to finish with 10 wins and a home quarterfinal ahead of us". said Gorman. "We gave up an early goal and that changed the game. We will prepare for our second season now and look to turn in a top performance on Saturday."

Next, up for the Danes, they will host the #6 seeded NJIT Highlanders, who they defeated earlier this season 2-1 at home.
