Gul Confirmed to the SA Supreme Court

By Cameron A. Cupp | October 4, 2021

On the evening of Sept. 29, the Student Association Senate confirmed Mina Gul, who was nominated by SA President Abdoullah Goudiaby, to the Supreme Court by an overwhelming margin.

Following a relatively quiet confirmation consideration, the Senate voted 34-1 to confirm Gul’s nomination to the court, with three abstentions.

“I feel great, honestly. I am excited for this opportunity to serve the community as best I can,” Gul said to the Albany Student Press after her confirmation vote. “I would like to thank [President Goudiaby] for his support and representing me like he did; I will not let him down.”

Gul’s confirmation takes effect immediately, and she now officially serves as a justice on the Supreme Court.
