Hudson Valley Community College Students are now guaranteed admission to UAlbany if the student has a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Through the new Transfer Agreement Guarantee (TAG) UAlbany hopes to encourage two-year students to continue their education and earn their Bachelor’s degree.
10 million students attend community colleges in the United States, most with the goal of attending a four-year institution, and four out of ten of these students do not reach that goal.
“This partnership puts in place a structure that allows someone to set their goals at Hudson Valley, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel at UAlbany,” said HVCC President Ramsammy.
The Articulation Agreement between UAlbany and HVCC would ensure credits for specific majors would be transferred over, so the HVCC student is on track in their program, according to Kaitlyn Beachner, Staff Associate for Undergraduate Programs at the UAlbany Department of Undergraduate Education.
During the application process, for which the fee is waived, HVCC students would receive support from UAlbany, have access to campus resources, and also be able to attend UAlbany events.
Students will be accepted under the TAG program beginning in Fall 2020. For more information visit https://www.albany.edu/news/92617.php.
