COVID-19 has taken a lot from all of us, some more than others, but one thing UAlbany students have collectively lost is Parkfest. Parkfest is an annual university-held concert and is a long-standing tradition that has not occurred since the pandemic began in March 2020.
With the spring semester slowly coming to a close, many students wonder whether Parkfest will be held this year. The pandemic has forced the university to cancel the concert for the past two years, but recent downtrends in COVID-19 cases have allowed for restrictions on campus to be loosened. The probability that Parkfest will be held is definitely higher than that of last year.
Mya Williams, vice president of the Student Association confirmed that the university will in fact be holding Parkfest this semester. With two years of funding unused, this could be the greatest one yet, she said.
According to Williams, performers, prices and venue announcements will be announced in the near future. “It’s all coming together, just stay tuned!”
