I am told it’s time to climb the Mountain of Knives,
the one that cuts and bleeds you dry,
the one that no one survives.
To climb is a fate that none can defy.
They say that at mountain’s top,
is a view worth your feat.
A last view before you drop,
before your journey is obsolete.
Other mountains will always rise higher.
Others will always be ready for the climb.
More mountains with trails of briar.
More climbs beyond our meager time.
It is something we all do in our short, meaningless lives,
to go and climb the Mountain of Knives.
