The past week saw the following outcomes for University at Albany sports:
Deja Evans finished her freshman year averaging 8.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Monday, March 11:
Women’s basketball fell to Vermont 50-46 in the second round of the America East Tournament. The Great Danes shot 47.7% from the field on 21-44 shooting, going 1-9 from the 3-point arc and 3-3 from the free throw line. Kayla Cooper led UAlbany in scoring with 16 points, and Helene Haegerstrand put up an additional 15. Cooper led in assists with four, and Haegerstrand in rebounds with seven. The Great Danes finished their season with a record of 25-6, going 13-3 in America East play.
Wednesday, March 13:
Baseball fell to Army West Point 9-4. The Great Danes recorded eight hits and two errors. Luke Myers drove in all four runs for UAlbany. Cam Fuer pitched 0.2 innings and was charged with the loss. The Great Danes fell to a record of 0-11.
Friday, March 15:
Softball beat Niagara 2-0. The Great Danes recorded four hits. Jordan Nastos and Morgan Petty each recorded an RBI. Wendi Hammond pitched a complete game, recorded three strikeouts, and earned the win. UAlbany improved to a record of 7-5.
Softball beat Wisconsin 2-0. The Great Danes recorded four hits. Jordan Nastos and Sara Anderson each recorded an RBI. Kate Powers pitched a complete game, recorded two strikeouts, and earned the win. UAlbany improved to a record of 8-5.
Baseball fell to Georgetown 17-3. The Great Danes recorded nine hits. Will Binder, Justin Hurd, and Anthony Scarabino each recorded an RBI. Owen Birkman pitched 2.1 innings, recorded two strikeouts, and was charged with the loss. UAlbany fell to a record of 0-12.
Saturday, March 16:
Men’s lacrosse beat UMass Lowell 19-8. The Great Danes took 46 shots, with 31 shots on goal, recording 11 turnovers. Silas Richmond led in goals with four, and Ben Wimmer, Kevin Carney, and Graydon Hogg each recorded two assists. Goalkeeper Landon Whitney recorded eight saves, and Jack VanValkenburgh recorded three. UAlbany now stands at a record of 2-4, with a 1-0 record in America East play.
Women’s lacrosse beat Binghamton 15-13. The Great Danes took 42 shots, with 26 shots on goal, recording 13 turnovers. Katie Pascale led in goals with five, and Bryar Hogg, Mikaela Mooney, and Pascale each recorded two assists. Goalkeeper Grace Cincebox recorded five saves. UAlbany now stands at a record of 2-6, with a 1-0 record in America East play.

Track and field competed in the Spring Break Classic. Brinesha Derrick-Bain, Thalia Benoit, Tyler Howard, and Alicia Grady placed second in the women’s 4x400m relay with a mark of 3:57.67. Derrick-Bain placed fourth in the women’s 400m hurdles with a mark of 1:01.60.
Track and field competed in the Black & Gold Invitational. Ludith Campos won the women’s hammer with a mark of 192-04.00. Tyler Charles won the men’s triple jump with a mark of 50-00.50. Hassan Abidi won the men's 800m with a mark of 1:49.92. Shavar Staats Jr., Shak Williams, Lucas Casab, and Rajay Morris won the men’s men's 4x100m with a mark of 39.72, a new school record.
Sunday, March 17
Baseball fell to Georgetown 7-5. The Great Danes recorded seven hits. Jared Toby recorded three RBI’s. Ryan Pittz pitched 4.0 innings, recorded three strikeouts, and was charged with the loss. UAlbany now stands at a record of 0-14.
