A male student was the victim of a robbery on the University at Albany Uptown Campus on Sunday, Sept. 1.

The student was approached near State Quad by an unknown number of unidentified males who are believed to have known the victim.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was believed to have known and been targeted by the suspects.

No arrests have been made so far.

Concerns over safety on UAlbany’s campuses were raised after this incident and the car chase and subsequent shots fired by the University Police Department on Aug. 27.

UPD released a safety notice for students and faculty members to follow, including staying in well-lit areas, remaining aware of your surroundings and making a report at the first sign of suspicious behavior. UPD also asked people to call 518-442-3131 if they have any information regarding the incident.
