On Sunday, the University at Albany women’s soccer team lost 2-0 against Bryant moving to 0-1-1 and fifth place in the America East conference.

UAlbany started the match with three shots in the first five minutes. Bryant responded to the early pressure with Emily Supple shooting the ball from just outside the box into the top right corner giving Bryant a 1-0 lead. Bryant dominated ball possession and Supple scored a header from a cross to make it 0-2 in the 27th minute.

The second half saw the match become more competitive as both teams held each other scoreless. The Great Danes took three shots in the final seven minutes of the match, along with two corner kicks, but despite the late pressure, they did not find a goal.

In Sunday’s loss, Bryant outshot UAlbany 17 to 11. UAlbany goalkeeper Emily Dorfman made seven saves, adding to her position as the nation’s saves leader.

UAlbany will visit the New Hampshire Wildcats in Durham, New Hampshire, on Thursday, Oct. 3, for their next match.
